Nobody publishes their prices, every quote looks different, and half the numbers online are written for London. Here’s an honest look at what office cleaning actually costs in Leicester, and, more usefully, what makes the number move.

The short answer

Most commercial office cleaning in this region is built on an hourly rate per cleaner, and in 2026 that typically lands somewhere between £12 and £16 per cleaner-hour for contracted work, depending on who you hire and what the job demands. A small office cleaned three evenings a week might come out at a few hundred pounds a month; a larger floor cleaned daily runs comfortably into four figures. Anyone who gives you a precise number before seeing your space is guessing, and you’ll pay for their guess one way or the other.

What actually moves the price

Frequency. Daily cleaning costs more per month but less per visit: the space never degrades far, so each visit is maintenance rather than recovery. Once-weekly cleans of busy offices are slower, harder work per visit. There’s a crossover point, and an honest quote finds it with you.

Washrooms and kitchens. These are the time-heavy zones. An office with one kitchenette and two washrooms is a different job from one with a floor of each, even at identical floor areas.

Hours of access. Cleaning inside your working day is cheap to schedule but disruptive; evenings and early mornings are standard practice and shouldn’t carry a mysterious premium. Unsociable overnight slots can cost a little more, for the honest reason that people need paying properly to work them.

Reading a cleaning quote without getting caught out

A few things to check before you sign anything, ours included:

• Is the scope written down, task by task? “Full office clean” is not a scope; it’s a future argument.
• Are periodic tasks priced separately? Internal glass, deep carpet cleans and high-level dusting shouldn’t be silently absent, then billed as surprises later.
• What’s the minimum visit charge? Very short visits get rounded up by every firm; better to know the rounding than discover it.
• How do you leave? Notice periods of a month are reasonable. Twelve-month lock-ins protect the cleaner’s revenue, not your office.
